Ok, I just crawled out of my cave and learned about the Friday, Friday video and the reaction to it. Apart that she is incapable of lip synching, I find it fascinating that she is younger than my son who is turning 14 tomorrow. Sometimes I hate teh internets. |

I love that show. You should know that guilt eventually teamed up with brain to defeat penis. |

Want to know something else that will make you hate the internets more? She's (allegedly) made over $200,000 from all the attention that video has gotten (sales on iTunes and the ad revenue from people watching the video on YouTube). |

That girl is ridiculously, ridiculously attractive. |

And I thought I read she is donating a large portion, if not all of it, to the Japan relief efforts? |

I heard the same thing. Not sure if it's true or not. If it is, then between that fact and all of the enjoyable parodies of that song I have heard, I believe the whole thing has become a net positive for me. |
Where is a good place to upload pics for free to be able to post in this thread? (Other than my ISP)

I used Photobucket.com a lot until recently, but then again i use it not just for this purpose but also to store and show my travel pics to friends and family, you upload into an account and can then put together collections/folders you can make accessible or not (then you can link a picture and people can only view that particular pic and not the rest).
For just a pic here or there maybe sth like Imageshack.com would be more straightforward. Picasa (google afiliated) is what i use now, but doesn´t make sense over photobucket unless you use it to organize your pictures on your harddrive like i do (you install the program and from there can upload pictures to your google account and then do folders and stuff again) |

I thought Pumpy was black?

My guess is that this girl is 16 -- 17 at the most. She's wearing a high school class ring and a watch that would not be worn by anyone not in high school. In addition, chipped nails. |
Early 20s - late teens.

Great collection of nature/vista shots. A few of them look like HDR - I'm going to have to start experimenting with that on my camera.

There are few flattering pictures of Miss Watson now. She's gone with a very short semi-butch lesbian haircut that just isn't good at all. |

This is a picture I originally took in January. It was my first attempt at HDR. Not as bold of colors as some I've seen, but considering how bland the original was, I was pretty happy with this.

As a former landscape photographer, I have been curious about such high-contrast, unnatural looking photos. I guess it's yet another evolutionary step in digital imaging, esp. when Photoshop introduced "Merge to HDR" functionality. I miss the days when one simply print a transparency/negative on photo paper without first altering it through imaging software.
But HDR certainly does produce spectacular works of digital art. |

Sorry to ask such a vague question, but how do you get the colors to be so vibrant? |

I would like to know too ;) I just bought a Nikon D5100 and really have no clue how to "use it". I'm officially an inspiring amateur photographer ;) |
HDR is a technique that allows you to mix the results of multiple shots set with different exposure values into one image. By taking shots with a couple steps higher and a couple steps lower than your target stop value, you can combine the best parts of those exposures with your "normal" exposure and get a more vibrant, interesting result.
Some cameras now have built in settings to allow you to easily get the multiple exposures you need, but you can also manually do this simply by adjusting your f-stop values and taking multiple pictures in succession. Obviously for matching purposes, you'd want to do this when your camera is solidly mounted on a tripod to ensure consistent framing. If you have a human subject, you'd really need to have the built-in multiple exposure feature in your camera so you can rapidly get the pictures you need without the movement of your model becoming noticeable. Of course, to merge these images into one you need the right software. There are many stand alone HDR programs out there, and recent versions of Photoshop have this feature built-in. |

I don't know. I'd make her bake me a cake and then when it was frosted, I'd have her get into bed, naked and I'd give her a piece of cake to eat...while I eat a piece of cake in bed next to her. But, I'd use her ass as a plate. That would be a good day.
EDIT: Somehow my post ended up at the top.... For Pumpy: |
dawgfan pretty much explained the HDR process. The background on my pic:
I originally took these with that girl in January, during a sunny, cold day. Not a lot of color because the sun washed a lot of things out. Yet, the session went great and I got a done of good composition shots from it. I wasn't a huge HDR fan at first...some look totally fake. But with that pic, I loved how she was looking down into the water and the way the background looked. If I was going to play with HDR, seemed like a good photo to test it. But I had to cheat a little. Normally, you take multiple shots of the same thing at different exposures. The HDR software then puts them together (how, I'm not sure, I'm still learning it myself). I used Lightroom to take the original image and make 2 copies and difference exposures. I then took all 3 versions and made the pic you saw. I used a free software program called Picturenaut. However, I've since learned my recently installed CS5 has this feature, but I just haven't had time to learn it (it's a lot deeper than Lightroom, which I like for basic editing). Overall, I'm more into composition than editing, but if I'm going to make a little side money I know it's necessary. I can see how HDR would enhance certain portraits with great backgrounds. |
