My main fear is that if I'm wrong about Qwikshot being the one who was converted, then we're basically going to have nothing to go on. If it's anyone else, they've done a masterful job of playing along with the crowd.
And I think RA will kill me when he goes down, just for spite. Can I wear a protective suit when we blast him?
I don't know either. But, this is the first time that Neon Chaos has been dead, too.
It would be a bad feeling if we kill RA today and tonight there is an apparent conversion. |
I wish I had possessed that power, Fouts.
It feels like we'd be taking a chance killing Qwikshot, but three things:
1.) He has definitely been acting/voting erratically since the conversion. 2.) He does not appear to be using his role any longer (didn't assume the guard role and will not advise on what he saw in kingfc22's room). 3.) Until pushed, RA voted for himself rather than voting for Qwikshot, even though voting for Qwikshot would save him. |
Ok, well I've got one last shot (what is it with me and being unable to leave for work at the right time? Sheesh). Right now, I see it as such --
1) JeeberD voted Raiders Army (1) because "Vince's post gives more than enough evidence that damns RA." 2) Vince voted Raiders Army (2) (I talk to much, so I'm paraphrasing) because "Qwik couldn't be proven yet, and RA had a lot of evidence against him." 3) Fouts voted Raiders Army (3) because "It is obvious to me that RA was working with Neon, Blade, and Hoops. Whether he was doing so against his will, I don't know. He never indicated that to me. When I came out with my information and was the #1 target for the aliens, he went full force at me. That was his chance to save himself." 4) Mr. Wednesday voted Qwikshot (1) because "I'm pretty settled on this. I'm going to take a shot at going for the last conversion and give Raiders Army a chance to be cured." 5) Vince unvoted Raiders Army (2) and voted Qwikshot (2) because "You know...irrespective of what else has happened, I'm quite sure RA does NOT have the ability to convert people. On top of that, we might be able to save him. The theory Mr. W thought up about a convert being able to convert more later holds water, so I'm going to switch my vote." 6) Raiders Army voted for Raiders Army (3) because " Like I have a shot at this point...might as well go with the majority." 7) Raiders Army unvoted Raiders Army (2) and voted Qwikshot (3) because " Fuck you guys and your paranoia...I'm just ready to leave the game at this point." |
Quote:
Out of game - I'm sorry if you guys are offended that I played my role the way I did. It is all part of the game. Inside the game - I can see why you guys would kill me, even though it isn't a good strategic move. |
We cannot save Raiders Army. He is an alien.
I was just trying to see if he would vote for Qwikshot. |
Like Swaggs said, RA's first vote today was huge. The voting was currently tied at 2-2 between Raiders Army and Qwikshot. A vote for Qwikshot would have gotten him off the hook. Instead, he voted for himself, thereby putting himself in the lead. If this isn't damning evidence that Qwikshot is more important to the aliens' cause than RA is, I don't know what is.
Out of the game - can't comment on it quite yet, but will later.
But there are no out of game hard feelings. Just playing around. |
Basically, my viewpoint is that Raiders Army is more or less a known quantity -- that is, we don't know for sure if we can leave him alive, but we know who's side he's playing right now and we have a pretty good idea that he's not one of the ones that can convert people. We know that another conversion happened and we haven't nailed that person yet. I consider the other conversion a greater threat than Raiders Army, so I am making the other conversion a higher priority.
Plus, Digamma thought there might be a chance of saving RA, so that's another reason for me to consider leaving him to deal with later. |
I'm going to take a risk here. This should make things 4 votes for QS and 2 votes for RA. If Raiders Army wants to tie it up, Qwikshot can either come in at the last moment and vote for himself or Raiders Army to tie things up or someone else can switch.
I vote Qwikshot |
Quote:
Glad to hear that. I don't want to piss people off. I would've waited till later, but CW was very important. |
Again, I have no knowledge that Raiders Army can be saved.
I believe Digamma took my cue and was playing along. If he knew that it was possible to save RA, he did not tell me. |
What I worry about is this -- right now it's Qwikshot 3, Raiders Army 2. I seem to think it's in our best interests to off Qwikshot first. We're waiting on two votes -- Qwikshot and Swaggs.
Swaggs is probably going to vote Qwikshot -- 4 to 2. However, Qwikshot will more than likely vote for Raiders Army -- 4 to 3. At which point Raiders Army can switch his vote to himself -- 3 to 4. Raiders Army dies, takes one of us out (Swaggs, I'd guess), then Qwikshot converts one of the four of us left, and it's 3 on 2. I would be very much happier if we could get JeeberD to switch over to Qwikshot right now. |
If Qwikshot is going to drop in, he is pushing it. :)
unvote Qwikshot
Vote Raiders Army |
Well, crap. Now we wait until Jeeber or Qwik get here. What're the odds that Jeebers in mid-shift?
Why do we want a tie?
Fouts...switch up to Qwikshot!
Unvote Raiders Army
Vote Qwikshot |
Deadline.
I hope we're right.
We don't -- Raiders Army and Qwikshot do. If Qwikshot doesn't die today, we lose someone since RA can kill someone else.
Plus, we think that Qwik can convert someone. |
Woo...slipping that one in there at the last second Fouts.
Dramatic conclusion.
I hope we played it well. |
Well played :)
I didn't want to do it, because I'm not sure if he is a convert. He is highly suspected, but we're rolling the dice.
We are taking a big chance here.
Vince -- QS
Mr. Wednesday -- QS Fouts -- QS Qwikshot -- Raiders Army -- RA JeeberD -- RA Swaggs --QS Qwikshot sighs softly, as the Sonic Cannon tracks him. "Guess this is what I get for breaking into places I don't belong." He tries to make a break for it, but the computer is apparently tired of missing on the first shot, and makes sure to wait till it has a clean shot.. The headshot basically explodes Qwikshot's head, but the creature inside that leaps out runs right at Fouts. 10 steps away. 5 steps.. Fouts falls back in nervous fear... |
Nicely done
Crikey, why me?
Come on Fouts, get away...
And the Sonic Cannon catches the creature in mid leap on Fouts and blasts it clear across the room.
I was just thinking, what if the jack of all trades could assume the converter role?
Sorry Qwik.
and...
Whew! Die bad guys, DIE!
What's left of the creature inside of Qwikshot is slumped against the wall, talons and tentacles still outstretched from its leap at Fouts.
You look at each other. Could it be that your mission is nearly over? |
I suspect this will either be Fouts' or my last night here.
Well done gentlemen!
RA, who you gonna kill?
Maybe myself to put me out of my misery. :)
This game was sooooo stacked.
There's only a couple Night Actions left, so since everyone left is still here.. if folks tell me quickly (I hurt and want to sleep) what they want to do in the Night Action, I will open Day 7.
Maybe somebody has an antidote to save RA from his alien blood?
Sorry, Qwik, I was playing CoH at the same time...Bad-Example was with me as a witness.
The Computer Speaks:
If All known ecto-plasmic sources have been identified, X-Com Computer can be instructed to open base doors and remove lockdown status. Since there is still risk of alien activity, vote requires a 2/3'ds majority. Please indicate before morning publically if you wish to remove lockdown status |
My night action sent hurtin' Foz.
Remove lockdown
As far as I know, there is no saving Raiders Army.
I wish to remove lockdown status and get my ass out of here.
I wish to kill Raiders Army and get out of here.
Quote:
Wait, I'm agnostic. Forget it. |
votes:
2 For Removing Lockdown 1 for Not Removing Lockdown |
I don't think Swaggs really voted. What did I do to him?
Wait, how can I vote when there were still (last I knew) two ecto readings? Are we basically deciding whether we take a chance on RA being safe or not?
I'm safe. Trust me, and I'll introduce you to a model I know...her name is Miss Friday.
Dola, at this point, we know what RA is (for the most part). We know what Fouts has claimed to be. And we know what Swaggs did. What roles are outstanding? My only role was to vote and be cannon (or alien fodder). Is there anyone else who was more than what they seemed who's ready to come clean?
RA is the last ecto reading. If he is indeed human with alien tainted blood, we can get him some help.
Yeah... I'm not sure I understand.
Can we just detain RA and leave? :)
Quote:
*BTW, that was totally in character, and I really like you Fouts, especially cuz you died in Werewolf VIII* |
Two choices;
1) Stay another night, risk alien killing us, then lynch the last alien, risking another death. 2) Open lockdown, get RA some help, the rest of us live. |
Can I just slit my wrists and kill them all?
On topic question: Foz, is it just in my blood, or if I masturbate on them, will it kill them? I really like my blood where it is.
j/k |
Quote:
Hey, I'm just trying to get you some help. OOC: And yeah, I am a big target in each new game. |
The end is coming...
So what happens if we're wrong? We lose because we let the aliens out into the world?
Ok folks.. Here we go..
Raiders Army moves fast, boosted by his alien blood and grabs JeeberD in a hold, just inches from breaking his neck. "You are going to remove lockdown, and let me out of here, or I'm going to kill him! I swear I will!" He screams.. |
Nice.
Never negotiate with a terrorist.
Very nice. I rock.
Go me!!!
I can't wait for the E! True Hollywood Story on this to see all the behind the scenes stuff.
Maybe we should just let him go ...

What's this "we" stuff? You're dead. ;) |
Do I have Jeebs in the hold where my groin is in his face? I'm not sure I'd put my boyz at risk.
Was trying to throw my spectral voice ... darn.
That would be one serious money shot.
Wait, how much time do we have to decide, here?
"You think I'm bluffing, don't you... Maybe this will make you believe."
With that, he snaps JeeberD's neck.. throwing him down to the ground. Swaggs grins. "You just lost your bargaining chip. Smooth move." Raiders Army looks stunned for a second.. and then mouths "Oh Shit." He then tries to grab Mr. Wedensday, but in a race between a human (even filled with Alien Blood) and a Computer with a Sonic Cannon already trained on you? Bet on the Sonic Cannon. He gets sent flying.. purple red blood spewing everywhere. |
RIP JeeberD.
Ouch. I just spewed.
Wow. I am stunned.
Oh, I chose JeeberD to die because Swaggs played well, Fouts played well, and Mr. Wednesday was our fiddle (up until the last couple days).
Fozzie, is this the part where we can begin the Q&A session?
I think we have to see where the spewing blood lands.
You have my sincere thanks. You guys (aliens) played a great game, and without swaggs jumping in, you would have won this easily.
With that, the computer restores the base from lockdown, and immediately sends a communication to the local base, who sends a Bio-Haz team on an Avenger.
By the time it gets there, some of you are really feeling awful, and it's touch and go for a while, but you all make it out safely. the alien toxins in Raiders Army's blood finally flushed out. It's not quite beer and skittles for you.. the week locked in the base left over half of you dead, and some of you will have nightmares.. but at least you're still alive. There's some talk about prosecuting Fouts as a war criminal as he worked with the aliens, but nothing ever happens, as his actions afterwords is shown to have saved lives. THE END of Werewolf VII: Return to XCom |
And I had no scanning or viewing power whatsoever. I made that up. Vince finally caught me in it today...but it was believable, yes?
I shot my wad taking out Coffee Warlord and setting up Fouts...had it not been for Swaggs saving him, the game would've been over that night. hoopsguy gets my vote for Aliens MVP Swaggs definitely gets the vote for X-Com MVP |
Dola, thanks SirFozzie for putting on a great (and very frustrating) game. You rock!
By my reckoning, me, Jeebs, Vince, and kingfc22 were playing completely in the dark (even if kingfc22 did have some sort of special protective role). Me and king played like we were completely in the dark. :p (although I did vote Neon_Chaos over CW...)
I got lucky.
Digamma did everything. I had no powers beyond what I pulled on hoopsguy. I only pretended to know all that stuff so that they would kill me before Digamma. |
(the last was asked for by Raiders Army, I asked if he wanted to go for the partial win by convincing all of you to release lockdown, or just end it, and he just wanted the pain to stop)
Ok.. bring the Q&A.. I will attempt to answer as many questions as possible. First, the official role charts as they entered Day 1. Note, one of the roles as you know, took a MAJOR twist after that day. |
Quote:
Was there ever any chance of RA surviving outside of an alien victory?
Great game, SirFozzie. I enjoyed the descriptions, and the roles were well designed. Even if you did put my neck on the line forcing me to swap sides.
Alien Roles:
Sectoid Leader (Blade6119): You are a Sectoid Leader, who somehow managed to sever his link with the mother brain moments before a hail of fire blew it to smithereens. You managed to use what little alien technology remained after the Cydonia mission to take over the body of a wounded XCom soldier. You gathered a couple members of your fellow slave races, and "acquired" human bodies for them to use.. but you know that you are not safe. You want to take over the X-Com base and use it to hide from the world, and to replenish your numbers for some day to attack the impudent humans again.... Your special Ability: PSIONICS. During any night action, you may view one member of the X-Com forces and learn their role. However, they will feel the psionic energy and know they have been "scanned", although they will not know WHO scanned them. As long as you live, your fellow alien members may communicate via IM/PM. Should you be killed, the aliens will no longer be able to communicate. (NOTE: After the Qwikshot fiasco, I thought it really screwed things up the aliens to lose communications because of MY screwup (making sure folks did not quote me in PM.. so I had them find a Psi-Amp, and was able to communicate that way) Chryssalid (Neon_Chaos): Once you were the feared shock troop of the alien incursion. Now.. you're the last of your kind. That's ok. Get enough of the meatshields around you, and soon you'll have your brothers and sisters again. If it means you have to hide in a human body, you'll bear it.. although you don't like it. Special Ability: Zombie Takeover. Once every two days, you may ambush somebody, and attack them. If your attack is not defended against, you turn the target into a Chryssalid-Zombie, effectively boosting your ranks, as they join your side. TurnCoat (Fouts): You were a lowly research technician at a base, when it was attacked. They found you in a corner, cowering, begging them not to kill you. They made you a deal. They would spare your life, and you would inform your new masters of what X-com was doing. When they found you after Cydonia, you thought they would torture you to death for not informing them of the final attack, but instead, they want you to work with them once again. They've Promised to let you go after this final mission. You just want to live, still. Special Ability: Under the Radar. Any attempt to view you will indicate that you are human and a member of X-Com. You are the perfect spy. Alien Cultist (Raiders Army) : Your father was a member of one of the governments that went over to the aliens in the final frantic days of the war. After news came of X-Com's victory, your father spirited you away to avoid the retribution that everyone knew was coming from humankind. He brought you to a secret enemy base, and then turned you over to a sectoid doctor.. who modified you to what you are today. Your blood is now a virulent poison. Anyone who takes you out will find that he shares your fate. Special Ability: POISON BLOOD If you are blasted, that night, you may PM me the name of one member of the group that voted against you. They have contracted your poison, and unless tended to by a medic, will die that night as well. X-Com Roles: Grunt: You were one of the X-Com agents who spent mission after mission blasting the bad guys. You thought that after Cydonia, that things would finally be over. But it looks like not all the bad guys truly died after the final mission, and your mission is to make sure the world stays safe from the alien menace. Screw this up, and all your friends and comrades sacrifices might mean nothing except a delay from an awful fate. Special Ability: None, but there's more of you then there are of them. At least, you hope. (VINCE, hoopsguy, Schmidty, Mr. Wedensday, Peregrine)) Jack of All Trades. (Qwikshot) Once per night, you may break into the room of any person who has died previously, learning their role, and if they had a special X-Com Role, you have the ability to assume that role. (Note: You may only have one speciality, so if you pick up a role, you lose the Jack of All Trades ability) Courier (JeeberD): You were one of X-Com's Couriers officers, tasked with finding alien bases and determining which nations could go over to the aliens. Now, your skill at dropping messages may be your salvation, or it might be the thing that dooms you. You just have to determine who's on your side. Special Ability: DEAD DROP. Once per night, you may choose a player and a message to give them. It can be no more then 100 characters, and you may choose to sign it or not. I will then pass on the message to the person you chose. Hacker (Swaggs): You were one of X-Com's elite computer agents. You followed the money trail to determine which nations were covertly funding aliens. You also raided some nations secret funds on months where funding ran dry. You were hoping that you could get a message out to the world about the coming threat, but all communications are locked down. But you still have one backdoor left in the system. Should they try to blast you, you'll blast them first. Special Ability: COMPUTER OVERRIDE. If you are chosen to be blasted, you may activate this one time override, and choose another target to be blasted. YOU MAY ONLY USE THIS ONCE. Veteran of the Psychic Wars (digamma): When you joined X-com, you expected to spend your time using high ordinance to blow up the enemy. Little did you know that your weapon of choice would be a Psi-Amp. You've not used the ability too often since the Cydonia battle, but you have a feeling that if you can just see the bastards, you'll still know what they are. Special Ability : PSI-AMP trained: Once per night turn you may "view" a person and reveal their nature (human or alien), and you may share this dream (note: you don't have to), with one other member. They will not realize where the dream is coming from, however. The person you scan will know that they have been "scanned", but will not know who did it. Medic (kingfc22): You were one of X-Com's field agents tasked with keeping your fellow teammates alive. Now, with the numbers against you, your skills may be all that keeps your teammates alive. If you're at the right place at the right time. Special Ability: MED PACK: Each night, you may PM me the name of a person you wish to protect. If they are attacked by the aliens, you may heal them and ave them from death, although they will be obviously wounded. (NOTE: This may not work against certain attacks, although you will be aware of the circumstances should it happen) Cydonian Veteran (Coffee Warlord): You were one of the best soldiers, even in an elite organization like X-Com. You went on mission after mission. You even battled the Alien Brain on Cydonia. You were there for the salvation of Mankind. And you'll be damned if you're going to let the aliens steal that salvation away. Special Ability: Double-Edged Sword. Your many battles on Cydonia turned you into the perfect soldier, but it also tainted you slightly. Once per night, you may protect any one person. If they are attacked, you will either drive them off (most attacks), or kill them outright (Under certain circumstances which I will go into should they become necessary.) However, your time battling on the alien moon has tainted you with a Ecto-Plasmic aura.. you will add to the bad guy count that the computer keeps (it won't be able to determine details, just how many folks have a ecto-plasmic aura). So even when the battle is over, you may still have to convince your teammates NOT to kill you. |
