Nirvana version = better, more consistent rhythm, better matching of the vocal style with the content of the lyrics, better production

The Melvins cover is interesting to hear what they did with the vocal melodies, but it's inferior IMO.

At least in Kentucky we have a bunch of dry countries in which alcohol cannot be sold. It's hard to see too many details in the chart, in part because Kentucky's counties are very small, but the green colored counties do seem to somewhat match up with the dry ones.
