2K15 A new beginning...
These blogs are my stories from NBA 2K. I had a blast with 2K14 and using Dreece/Sapp/Blindsidz fictional drafts and league. They provided unbelievable work and kept the game relevant for so much longer than ever before in my game rotation. Now I'm looking forward to continuing the fun with 2K15 on Xbox One! So enjoy the stories at your own risk.

I'm sitting in my new office here in Dallas just contemplating what has happened in the past 24 hours. I still can't believe it. But now it's time to move on and get back to work.

So where do I start with this roster? It almost looks like Donnie was trying to recreate some of his Dad's Golden State Warrior Run DMC teams. There are SG galore on this roster.

I'm sitting at home a few days before the 2017-18 season starts and I get a phone call.

"Hello?"
"Hey it's Jordan. Got a few?"
"For the owner I can make a few. What's up? I hope you like the little moves we made in the offseason. I think we have a great chance at a three-peat. Our stars are just hitting their peaks and our bench is pretty strong again. I would like a little more depth in the backcourt, but we have that full exception we can use if needed."

So that discussion that Jordan and I were supposed to have after the celebration party, never happened. I got a call from him the next day saying we would have to postpone. But to continue on working and everything would be taken care of. I just led the team to back-to-back championships, so no worries. I figured we would take care of the official stuff later concerning my contract.

Therefore, I continued on with the normal offseason tasks.

First off were the options ... Read More

The team held up its hot play going into the playoffs. as they breezed through the first three rounds and into the Finals.

Round one saw us facing the Atlanta Hawks with Carmelo Anthony and company.
We closed them out in 6 with the first two games being complete blowouts for us. The other 4 games were much closer as the Hawks were able to take games 4 at home and 5 on the road. In game 6 we went to the fourth with a 15 point lead. The Hawks made a valiant comeback that came ... Read More

Pre-Allstar break:
The team has rocketed off to a great start to the year, 41-13. The chemistry on the team is the best I have been around in my short time as a GM. Everyone knows and has accepted their role. Injuries have been kept to a minimum as well.

Irving made his 5th straight All-Star game. The third time as a starter. He is averaging 21.7ppg/3.8rpg/7apg, which are lows from last year. But he isn't being asked to do as much scoring with the addition of Waiters who is ... Read More

After the just completed title year we weren't looking to make any major moves. Just some little tweaks here and there. This was the final year of my contract with the Bobcats and I was determined to enjoy the champagne buzz for as long as I could and keep things easy peasy.

We picked up the options on:
Parker 4.67mil
McCollum 2.42mil
Embiid 2.03mil
C. Zeller 5.32mil
And passed on Ilyasova's 8.4 mil option.

We made qualifying offers ... Read More

Well that game seven didn't quite live up to its billing. But we ended up on the right end of things.

The first quarter started off really rocky. We started off 2/12 from the floor and were down by ten midway through the first. Kyrie couldn't hit the broadside of a barn to start off. Luckily, Mayo got hot towards the end and hit a couple of threes to get us within one. He ended up with 10 points in the quarter.

The second quarter saw the team start to heat up, especially ... Read More

This is it. Our chance to rewrite history and bring home the first NBA title to the city of Charlotte.

The hype surrounding this game has been incredible. It's leading all the ESPN stories and the city of Charlotte is in a state of excitement that it has never been. Not even during the heady days of the Hornets and Grandmama.

It all comes down to the two best words in sports, "Seventh Game"!

The matchup of these two teams was thought to favor the Thunder. ... Read More

For game 6 we tried to keep the guys focused on just this game. No talk of history was ever mentioned. Now that might be harder to do.

The Thunder received some reinforcements in the person of Steven Adams at center. He took the starting spot back from Isaiah Austin, who had been giving us fits. As for Kyrie he was determined that if we went down he was going to do go down swinging for the fences. He had his best game of the Finals with 40pts 8 assts on 60% shooting from the field. ... The Thunder looked very lethargic and didn't seem to show up to Game 5. It's almost like they were playing to lose and hope to win the championship at home. If they want to "give" us one go for it. The next thing they know they will be in game seven wishing they hadn't "gave" us that game.

Kyrie still didn't have a great shooting night but cut down on his TO and took it to the hole to get the line. He looks to starting to get back on the hot streak he was at the beginning of the ... Read More

After a team meeting following the last loss, the team responded and at least showed some backbone. It was a start. No team in the NBA has ever come back from an 0-3 hole. But there is always a first time for everything right?

Kyrie had a terrible game shooting wise, but Parker picked it up as he has been doing all Finals long so far.

Game 4:

So we did not have the start to the 2016 Finals that we were looking for. This was going to take a historic comeback.

As stated before we had made the playoffs as a #2 seed. So we were feeling good, but not satisfied. 16 wins and I could finally give Jordan another trophy, just as an owner this time.

For the first round we were matched up against the Cleveland Cavs. This presented an opportunity for a couple of stories. The return of Kyrie to his original team just one year after jumping ship. And the matchup of the top two picks from the 2014 Draft: Parker and Wiggins. Cleveland definitely put ... Read More

The second half of the season was a trial in patience. We were able to weather through a spate of serious injuries in the second half of the season.
Zeller 4-6 weeks Dislocated Patella (He returned two weeks before playoffs)
Embid 6-8 weeks Broken Jaw (He returned the week before playoffs)
Ilyasova 6-8 weeks Broken Back (Still out and prob missing playoff run)
Mayo 6-8 weeks Broken Jaw (Prob out for playoff run, and second major injury this year)

Even through ... Read More

Even after all the moves that were made in the offseason to makeover the team and change the culture, there was one more move that had to be made. Kemba was not a happy man after getting back from his tour of Europe and hearing we had signed Kyrie. I basically got the memo from his agent of "trade me or you will regret it." I did feel bad after giving him the extension. But it was my duty to make the team the best I could. So I wanted to do right by Kemba and trade him. I was hoping to find a staring ... Read More
