2020 NBA Finals "Revenge is so Sweet!"

We had a chance to put a storybook ending on this unbelievable playoff run. We started out as a one and done team, and now we are staring a title in the face. All we have to do is get by the four-in-a-row champion Charlotte Bobcats. Who not to forget were the team I built and then turned their back on me. So I had more invested into this series than probably any other, and the team knew it.

Game 1 was a little bit of a letdown as the team was having a hard team recovering from that brutal 7 game series against the Thunder. The could just never get the engine running smoothly. To that end we ended up losing 115-132. Waiters had 45 as he hit jumper after jumper. Parker did try to battle him by going 31/5. But it just wasn't enough. So we started the series in a 0-1 hole.

Game 2 was a completely different story. The offense was clicking on all cylinders and we ran by the Bobcats 117-91. Ray Ray had 23/10, Lawson 23/8, and Parker 22/9. We slowed Waiters down this time to only 26. I felt this game was the first one that showed the Bobcats were not on the same level as they had been without Irving.

Game 3 was our first on the road and once again things were clicking. We won 108-98. Ray Ray put up 25/11, Lawson 20, and Parker 20/6. For the first time the media was leaning towards our way when talking about winning the title. They had finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. The team on the other hand was as focused as always and wouldn't talk of any title just yet. They were focused on the next game and playing their game.

Game 4 on the road ended up the toughest game. The team had to face a serious setback in losing Randle for the rest of the playoffs late in the fourth quarter. He broke his hand on a ferocious dunk. Parker had the worst game of his playoff career struggling with foul trouble the whole game. He ended the night fouling out while only playing 9 minutes and scoring 2 points. Lawson hit a jumper late to seal the game and had 23 for the game. Ray Ray was his usual solid self with 24/13.

Game 5 talk began all about how were we going to deal with the loss of Randle. Could we find a way to deal with the injury and close out the Bobcats. Most pundits had us losing game 5 and going back home to try and close them out. Our team had other thoughts. Right from the tip off they showed they weren't giving anything away and were determined to end it here and now. We were up 21 at half and 28 by the end of the third. The Bobcats never made a push in the fourth and we ran out the clock to win 120-100. Lawson absolutely went crazy shooting 11/17 from three and scoring 41 points total. Augustin had his best game of the series by chipping in 25. Parker had 20, and he had a thunderous dunk at the beginning of the fourth that basically said "Game Over!"

So the revenge was complete, and the Mavs had brought the 2020 NBA Title back to Dallas. It was a magical run, much in the same vein of the 2011 title.
Now it was time to party like no other!!

Yeah I've been laying low as I can't proceed until they put out DC 7. But it was satisfying to put it to the bobcats!!
