THE BOSTON GLOBE (RED SOX DYNASTY REPORT)

BOSTON, MA - The Yankees came to town this week, their second series against Boston this month, and after going 3-5 since their last meeting they would be motivated to win in Fenway. Over the same period the Red Sox went 7-2, including a 2-1 record against Baltimore, and would love to get revenge for Lester's last loss.

For the second time in three starts, the Yankees owned Lester from the 1st inning. The Yankees would hammer Boston's ace for 3 in the first inning, and follow it up with three more by the 4th (which Lester failed to get out of). 9H in 3.1IP and Lester was back on the bench licking his wounds. Teixiera would be Lester's biggest problem, hitting a 3R HR in the first and a 2R shot in the 3rd to rack up 5RBI.

Despite allowing 2 in the first, the Yankees and starter David Phelps had this one pretty much wrapped up. Sizemore tried to get Boston back in the game with a 2R HR in the 7th, ending Phelps' day, but it just wasn't enough to rescue Lester from his second loss of the season.
