ORLANDO COASTS TO EASY WIN ON THE ROAD
Toronto, Ontario (AP) - Orlando's offense is starting to feel the "magic touch," with another blowout win on the road, this time smacking down the Raptors 114-81. This one was never close. The Magic opened up a 29-16 first quarter lead in Toronto, and that's the closest it would get the rest of the game. Orlando shot the ball incredibly well, hitting on 59% of their shots from the field. And, the defense stepped up as well, holding the Raptors to just 36% shooting for the game. All five starters for the Magic scored in double-figures.
Happel showing off his leaping skills while all alone on the fast break
The offense was, once again, led by forward Brian Happel. He was just on fire, there really is no other way to put it. Happel scored 43 points on 18-21 shooting from the floor, meaning he's connected on a mind-boggling 36-43 shots over the last two games. That's good for 84%, "It's really quite easy when you have teammates like mine and a coaching staff like the one we have here. When all the pieces fall into place like that, scoring the points just becomes a formality." Happel also grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. Dwight Howard and Andray Blatche were solid down low. Howard nearly had a triple-double, scoring 18 points, collecting 8 boards and dishing out 7 assists. Blatche poured in 19 points on 8-12 shooting from the field.
For Toronto, Leandro Barbosa led the offense with 21 points. Andrea Bargnani also chipped in 19 points, and point guard Jesse Delk collected a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. In addition to the shooting, the Magic outdid the Raptors in a few other key stats. Orlando did a better job finding the open man, gathering 27 assists, compared to Toronto's 15. And the Magic also outrebounded the Raptors to the tune of 49-37. The blowout will likely prove helpful to Orlando, as the team was able to rest some of its starters ahead of tomorrow night's second half of the back-to-back. The Magic welcome the Cavaliers to the Amway Center.
