2k11 Excitement!

So I realize it's been quite some time since I last wrote in here. Things have been kinda busy. I've been gaming, although not as much. New relationships do that on occasion haha. But I have to say my level for sports gaming has been amped up in the past couple weeks due to NBA 2k11's impending release. Now, I've been excited for games in the past. GTA 4 was a big one. Shoot, MLB The Show 09 was HUGE for me. As was The Show 10. HOWEVER, things have changed and been bumped up a level for 2k11. Now, I am a big basketball game fan. My first experience was with Double Dribble back in the arcade days. Arch Rivals was fun. You can't deny the original NBA Jam and NBA Live series as well. However, one of the most fun games for me as a kid was Tecmo NBA Basketball on NES. Had the Bulls and the Blazers on the cover, remember that one? I wore that game OUT! Literally. The cartridge came apart on me after a weekend marathon. I bought another one so it was all good. I loved playing as the Bulls. They were (and have been) my favorite NBA team. I loved dominating with MJ as he did in real life. When I heard that NBA 2k11 was bringing Jordan back, my excitement rose a bit. However, I was still a touch skeptical. NBA 2k9 was a great game. However, NBA 2k10 was far from that. I was excited for it's 10th anniversary, however, after a quick play of it the game was far from what I was hoping for. Basically it was a shined version of 2k9 with the new My Player mode. I love modes like that. It's one of the reasons I'm such a big fan of The Show. But I couldn't get very excited for it after playing the draft combine download. So basketball for 2009 for me remained with College Hoops 2k8 (my favorite basketball title to date and a top 5 favorite game. Oh yeah, I love it THAT much!) and I decided to forego the NBA season. However, in recent weeks I have been SUCKED IN HARDCORE by NBA 2k11. The team here at OS has got me amped up and the videos and interviews have done much more to get me ready for this. I hate wishing my days away, but I'd be fine if I woke up tomorrow and it was Tuesday haha. I'm anxious to try the Jordan Challenges because of my fandom to MJ. Being able to play as those Jordan teams again will be awesome! It will be just like the Tecmo days with a Bulls/Blazers matchup! I'm also excited about a great experience in My Player. It looks to be a great game around. I'm not going to say it's the best sports game title ever, at least not until I play it. But as far as the hype goes, I'm sold that it is going to be the best sports game this year (yeah take that FIFA 11!) and it's going to set the bar for basketball videogames. I hate to see that EA Sports delayed Elite, but they knew their competition was bringing their A+ game this year. And I do respect EA for their move. If they had put out the game the backlash would have been overwhelming. But now that 2k11 is just days away, my anticipation continues to grow with each new article, each new video and everything else I can get my hands on. I definitely want to thank the developers for the 2k community updates. Those have been great to read. Also, thanks to everyone here at Operation Sports for their early reviews and information. You guys are awesome! So now we wait. This is going to drive me crazy hahaha. But come Tuesday, we'll all be in basketball bliss!!

I've always loved the 2k series and i couldn't agree with you more about the wait. I'm hoping that the mom and pop shops around here get it on friday. You should all look into that. Basketball bliss could come early lol
