A-Rod: Being Owned and Owning
Posted on March 6, 2009 at 11:13 AM.
It was my second spring training game with my RTTS SP for the Detroit Tigers. A-Rod steps up to the plate in the bottom of the 1st with no one on and 2 outs. My catcher tells me to pitch him a high fastball right down the center of the plate. I am a rookie in spring training, and I think my catcher knows what he is doing, so I throw the pitch ...

After I hang my head in misery (he hit an ultimate blast), I shake it off and get back to work. The next time he comes up, there is a man on third, 1 out, and my catcher wants me to throw the same pitch. This time I shake him off, and after two great change-ups, I strike him out on a low and inside fastball.

The next time I face the Yankees in spring training, A-Rod comes up again. This time I tell myself I am not giving him anything to hit. I get him 0-2 on a low fastball, and low change-up. The next pitch I climb the ladder with a up and in fastball, and strike him out swinging. He comes up for the second time in the game, and I strike him out again on a low and inside fastball.

Hey A-Rod, you show me up, I show you up!
