Why must we overreact to everything Madden-related?
Posted on March 11, 2010 at 10:20 AM.
A shock to no one, the Madden boards are beginning to buzz as information about Madden 11 begins to trickle out. But, has there been any "news" yet? Not really. All we've seen is a couple of thrown-together articles that contain fragments of information.

The information that was revealed had to do with online play and playbooks. Honestly, it's hard to gather any kind of opinion because there's no real explanation from EA as to what these 2 features will mean in Madden 11. Yet, that hasn't stopped people from saying Madden is dead or that Madden is going to be stricly online within 2 years.

Really people? Can we just wait until some concrete news comes out before we freak out? What I'm more concerned with is how IGN and whoever wrote the other article got their hands on these bits of "information" and why they chose to write an incomplete article. I guess they were just looking to create buzz.

I think we all need to just sit back, breathe, and wait until some concrete information and facts about Madden 11 begin to trickle out.

It sounds to me as though you trust EA and i'm hear to tell you a lot of people don't...that's why they freak out...as a smart man once said "don't trust em as far as you can see em...and none o f us can see what's going on with EA...hence worry...bottom line EA's losing faith from the consumer year by year it's only a matter of time

I agree that EA is losing my faith, I will drop them if Madden is online only. FIFA is amazing as is FN4 but, other that that I am not too impressed

I think some guys enjoy speculation and argument over actually playing the video game to be honest.

I think you may be right, Kasey. I enjoy Madden 10 and still play it. In fact, I just re-set my profile so I can test out MySkill again, this time with adjusted CPU sliders.

As others have said, people don't trust EA. They have shown in the past that they often don't concentrate on the right areas and the exclusive license means they have to try to be everything for everyone. Too complicated, ******s won't like it, to much over the top and sims guys don't like it and too sim-like is boring to arcade guys. This is the only game for the most popular league in the country and is trying to do some crazy balancing act. i didn't enjoy any nex-gen Madden and if they try to cater too much in a direction that's not my style I know I won't enjoy Madden 11 either.

I normally just wait. But I've come to expect an overaction. I mean, the NFL is the most popular league in the world (and yes that includes European soccer; wikipedia). Guys just want their football to be good.

Maybe they speculate and agrue b/c they know they're not gonna get anything better but are holding on to a slim faith that they might...honestly how can you enjoy Madden when 2K5 and 2K8 are still better than Madden...I admit Madden makes progress year after year but it's rarely the right thing being improved or changed...that's why people underreact...or overreact...whichever

Bingo Casey. Madden 10 was finally a step in the right direction. There are a lot of frustrated football gamers out there though with little option for their football fix besides Madden. It puts Madden under a microscope. I have been guilty at times myself.
